Upcoming congresses
Dear Friends,

Kenes International has never been a company to “rest on its laurels”. We are constantly seeking for ways to improve ourselves, to be Number One in the field of Professional Congress Organization and Association Management. 2007 was a very successful year for us: All of our congresses saw an increase in numbers of participants compared to previous years, we won 8 new clients and our employee count increased by 48 employees. We are proud of our achievements, but not able to be complacent.

We have big plans for 2008: First and foremost to penetrate new markets. We have opened a new office in Singapore together with our strategic partner- PICO as part of our expansion plans in the Asia Pacific area. We will be offering our Core PCO and Association Management services to the region where these approaches are as yet largely unknown.

We are dedicated to expanding our concept of initiated meetings worldwide; creating new congresses that focus on the latest medical developments in a particular field. This venture has so far proven very successful and we hope to see it further blossom in the coming year.

We are ready for the new challenges and opportunities that 2008 will present to us and are ready to give our best, as we always do.

Spotlight on Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey Istanbul is the only metropolis in the world situated on two continents: Asia and Europe, and is also the most populous city in Europe. Steeped in history, Istanbul has served as the capital of three mighty empires, and each civilization left its mark on the city in some way, giving it a truly cosmopolitan feel.

With the rapid development of world travel, Turkey has reaped the benefits from the growth and expansion in congress tourism as tourists and business people alike seek more exotic environments and cultures to explore.
Istanbul offers many venues and facilities for hosting an international congress. The Istanbul Convention & Exhibition Centre (ICEC) is located in the heart of the city and boasts Istanbul's largest Ballroom. There are also numerous hotels that can accommodate an international congress, including the Radisson SAS Conference & Airport Hotel Istanbul which is the closest five-star hotel to the international airport in Istanbul and has 20 meeting rooms of various sizes and capacities, and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 people for a reception.

With over 50 airlines flying to Turkey and most major European cities just a two or three hour flight away, Istanbul is fast becoming the venue of choice for conventions and exhibitions.

Istanbul was the chosen location for the 4th International Symposium on Diabetes and Pregnancy in March 2007 (500 participants) and two more of Kenes International’s congresses will take place in Istanbul in 2008:

  • 77th European Atherosclerosis Society Congress (expecting 3,000 participants) in April 2008
