to Caesarea - one of Israel's principal historical sites. Erected in 20
BCE by King Herod, the city
was the late capital of the Roman province of Judea, later one of the
main Crusader strongholds destroyed in 1291 and now a National Park. Visit
the aqueduct, the Roman theater and the Crusader fortress. More details,

ANCIENT JAFFA

Jaffa,
the ancient sea port south of Tel Aviv, has known prosperity and destruction
in the long course of its history, yet still survived many of the peoples
that graced it shores in biblical and historical days.
Today Jaffa is a Mediterranean tourist center. Ancient Walls enclose a
large section of restaurants, galleries displaying sculptures, painting
and crafts, and also some fascinating antique shops. More details, lunch
