Notes:

  • Rates for all tours are based on minimum 15 participants per tour.
  • Pick up for all tours will be from the Giardini Naxos Ramada Hotel.
  • All tours include entrance fees as per itinerary and touring in an air-conditioned bus with the service of an English-speaking guide.
  • Changes in Routes, departure/arrival times may occur for reasons beyond our control.

Tour 1
Sunday September 29th, 2002

Syracuse Tour 08:00-17:00
Located near the southeastern corner of Sicily on the lonian coast, Syracuse is built on an ancient Greek settlement founded by Corinthians in 734 BC. It was the most important city in Magna Graecia and still today .Syracuse manifests a visible continuity from its ancient Greek past, both historical and mythological.
Depart the hotel and drive to Syracuse via Naxos and Catania. Upon arrival, visit of the Neapolis Archeological Park on the Terminite Hill: the well-preserved Greek amphitheatre (carved out of the rock), the Altar of Geron II and the Ear of Dionysius, formerly a limestone quarry.
Continue to the Ortegia Island - the oldest quarter of the city,and visit these ancient sights: the Cathedral, the fountain of Arethusa and the Temple of Apollo.
Return to the hotel after lunch.

Rate: 85 Euro per person. (Lunch included).

Tour 2
Friday, October 4th, 2002

Agrigento Tour 07:00-18:00
Located on a plateau overlooking Sicily's southern coast, Agrigento was founded as Akragas around 582 BC by a group of colonists from Gela, who themselves were the immediate descendants of Greeks from Rhodes and Crete.
Depart early from the hotel and drive via Catania and Caltanissetta to Agrigento. The famous Valley of the Temples is located outside the city.
Visit the Temples of Concord, Juno, Olympianzeus, Castor and Pollux in the Valley of the Temples. The tour will include also visit of the Archeological Museum.
Return to the hotel after lunch.

Rate: 97 Euro per person. (Lunch included).


Tour 3
Sunday, September 29th, 2002

Tour of Savoca and Forza D'Agro 08;00-13;00
A delightful half- day tour including a guided walking tour of the peaceful streets, churches and ruined Norman Castle of the Forza D'Agro village.Visit the fascinating catacombs of the Cappuccini Convent in Savoca and the Vitelli Bar ,where the "Godfather" movie was filmed in 1971. This quaint bar offers a fabulous view of the village.

Rate: 45 Euro per person.

Tour 4
Sunday, September 29th, 2002

Taormina City Tour 08; 30-13;00
Drive along the Via Pirandello,to Taormina for a visit in the Piazza Badia , and admire the Palazzo Corvaja, the Church of Santa Caterina, the Roman Amphitheater and the Greek Theather.
The rest of the morning will be at leisure for a stroll through the Corso Umberto and the quaint streets, before returning to the hotel.

Rate: 45 Euro per person.

TRANSPORTATION

In order to facilitate arrival transfers from Catania International Airport to the hotels, we have made arrangements for reduced rate shared transportation for Euro 30 per person (per direction).
