ACCOMPANYING PERSONS PROGRAM

All accompanying persons are invited to the social events of the Congress, as well as to the following two half-day tours:

THE MAJESTIC BUDA CASTLE
Thursday, November 4, 2004
09:00 - 13:00 hours

The tour covers the Buda part of the city, which is the oldest part of the city, including the majestic Buda Castle, the Castle District such as the Matthias Church and the Fishermens Bastion, which has become a symbol of the city.
During the tour, we visit the most famous sites of the castle, including entrance to the Matthias Church and the Fishermens Bastion. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a drive with the old funiculaire, one of the most popular public transportation vehicles of the city.
Guests will have also some free time to take a coffee in one of the numerous cafes, or to enjoy the shopping facilities of this district.
We end our tour with the Visit of the Citadella, the old fortress from where guests can enjoy the lovely view…

THE CITY OF THE THERMAL WATERS and THE MILLENNIUM MONUMENTS
Friday, November 5, 2004
09:00 - 13:00 hours

During this tour, the following baths will be included: Gellert Bath being one of the most famous and best known baths of Budapest, which is visited from the inside. The other smaller bath and the Szecheny Bath are visited from the outside. This complex was officially opened in 1913, and in 1927 a strand and swimming pool were added, making it one of Europe's largest spa centers. Guests will see some of the Turkish baths from the outside, as the most of them are at the moment under reconstructions and will be reopened in the near future in their old glamour…
The following monuments and sites will also be visited:
- The Heroes Square and the Citypark near the Széchenyi Bath
- The Andrássy Boulevard

The tour ends at the famous Grand Market Hall allowing some free time for shopping.
