Dear Colleague,
I am delighted to provide you with a more detailed program
of Bio-Tech Israel 2003. The conference will take place in the Trade
Fairs and Convention Center, in Tel-Aviv and has been re-scheduled
to May 13-15, due to geopolitical events. This annual event provides
a golden opportunity to participate and network with the Israeli
biotechnology community, which is world-renown in its cutting-edge
innovation and development potential.
The Israeli biotechnology community has grown to such size and
quality that demands
a forum where scientists, entrepreneurs, medical practitioners,
legal and patent advisors, regulators and corporate executives could
come together for an annual update and interaction. This year we
have integrated business and technological sessions in parallel
tracks so as to enable a dynamic flow and exchange among conference
participants.
The last year has seen the biotechnology industry face a more difficult
economic and corporate environment. To address this, 'BDO Ziv Haft'
and 'Focus Ha'aretz' have jointly organized the Opening Day's full
Business Conference to discuss solutions in sessions on "Alternative
Financing Models", "Strategic Alliances" and 'how
to tips' on "Preparing For The Market And Globalization".
Under the Conference theme - 'Where Scientific Excellence Merges
With Entrepreneurial Spirit', in Technology Tracks - over the entire
three days of the conference, presentations will showcase the best
and most advanced technologies and products in diverse sessions,
such as 'Functional Genomics', 'Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine',
'New Computer-Assisted Drug Discovery', 'Sophisticated Robotic Systems
for HTS of Drugs' and 'Ag-Biotech'. In addition we will have sessions
on Devices featuring drug-device combinations, and minimal invasive
imaging or surgical procedures.
Special panels will be dedicated to issues related to the business
of biotechnology. These include: "Ethical Issues", "Intellectual
Property", "Creative Approaches To Partnering" and
"Clinical Development - Strategies and pitfalls" will be
discussed.
What's more - we have a Symposium for Physicians, dedicated to
the general practitioner or bench scientist who wants to play a
part in the world of biotechnology. At this seminar, a concise account
of the current issues and trends of the industry will be presented
by leading biotechnology figures.
I warmly recommend that the entire community get together for this
national event, to form a dialogue and create a new vision.
