Tour 2: The Great Pyramids and the Sphinx of Giza

  The pyramids were built during the Third and Fourth Dynasty and were monumental undertakings of the king and the king’s sons. The entire valley of Giza stands as a marvelous reminder of the skill executed in the creation of the great Pyramids – Cheops (the most colossal ever built), Chephren & Mykerions. Not far from the pyramids is the great Sphinx of Giza - a huge funeral complex guarded by the legendary statue that combines the head of king Chephren and a lion’s body.

Tour 4: The Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque and Bazaar

  The Citadel is one of Cairo's most historic landmarks, constructed by Salah El Din in 1183 A.D. We will visit the contrasting architectural components of the Citadel, including the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the highlight of the tour. From the Mosque of Ali we will continue to the “Khan El Khalili” Bazzar, dating back to the 14th century and once known as the Turkish bazaar during the Ottoman period. The bazzar includes typical Egyptian handicrafts.

  Pombay’s Pillar this granite pillar is over 25 meters high. Built amidst the ruins of the Serapium in 297 AD in honor of Emperor Diocletian, it is the most prominent remaining Greek landmark in Alexandria. Catacombs; The largest Roman cemetery in Alexandria, is composed of three levels cut 30 meters deep into the existing rock. Dating back to the beginning of the Second Century AD, it is a blend of Pharaonic and Roman art. The fort of Quitbay; Erected on the northern tip of the Eastern Port on the site of the ancient Pharos of Alexandria, the fort design is influenced by both medieval architectures as well as by the lighthouse original layout. The fort also houses the Naval Museum.

  Visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs.
