Preliminary SCIENTIFIC Outline
Oral Sessions (2 hours each)
Will comprise of:
- • Keynote lecture
- • Short communications with Q&A from the audience after each presentation
- • Pros and cons debate on a controversy issue related to session
topic, moderated by session chairs
- • Closing remarks
Poster Sessions (1 hour each)
Will comprise of:
7 – 8 posters where presenting authors will have 5 minutes to present their work. Sessions will be moderated by a chairperson.
Meet the expert (40 minutes presentation; 20 minutes
audience discussion)
Hot topics in diabetes in pregnancy will be discussed by experts
in their field.
N. Freinkel Memorial Session
A main lecture given to all participants in the symposium with a
prize for the best work submitted from young researchers (no more
than 40 years old or 5 years from residency or accomplishing
PhD degree)
Clinical Workshops
Practical workshops discussing clinical problems in the management
of diabetes in pregnancy. The main rationale in these workshops
will be dealing with true complicated cases:
- Short DKA during pregnancy
- Altering pharmacological treatment
- Are there contraindications to pregnancy?
- Vascular complications in pregnancy – worse or no effect?
