Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part in the 7th Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care to be held in Palermo, Italy, from April 1-5, 2001. 

The EAPC will continue its tradition of ensuring a strong scientific programme which will challenge, inform and update all aspects of Palliative Care. We firmly believe that an exchange of information between professionals of any given field is the most productive and effective way to educate ourselves and others. Much care has been taken to assemble renewed speakers in all fields of Palliative Care, to share, in the environment of an international congress, their experience and knowledge with delegates from all over Europe. Sessions will cover different levels of interest, including teaching, controversies and debates on different topics. In continuation of the tradition to offer our programme to a wider range of delegates, most sessions will be available in English, French, and in Italian, as a tribute to the host country.

The venue for our 7th Congress is in the Fiera del Mediterraneo.
An exciting social program with special surprises will be provided to enjoy the sunny city of Palermo. We wish you a very fruitful congress where the multitude of disciplines, the diversity of languages and cultures will be a source of benefit.
