CLIMATE
Athens in September is sunny and pleasant. The average temperature is 24°C. Very slight chance of rain.
CLOTHING
Informal for all occasions; please bring sunglasses and walking shoes. In the evening, a jacket is recommended.
SHOPPING
Shops in summer open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00 - 15:30, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 9:00 - 21:00. Note that working hours vary from area to area; therefore the above schedule is only an approximate guide.
AIRPORT INFORMATION
International flights arrive at the new Athens Airport - which is approximately a 40-minute drive to the city centre.
Taxis are available at the rate to Euro 30.
Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport of Athens has a dedicated Railway station which connects the airport with the nearest metro station Plakentias (metro line 3) www.proastiakos.gr. The train stops running around midnight.
Trains depart approximately every 15 minutes. Cost of ticket is approximately Euro 8.
Buses - there are 3 bus lines to/from the airport. All buses depart from the designated area on the inner curbside of the arrivals level of the main terminal building, outside exit doors
# 4-5.
Line E94 connects the airport with the nearest metro station Ethniki Amina (metro line 3). The Metro stops running around midnight.
Line E95 connects the airport with Syntagma Square, the city centre (metro lines 2 & 3) (Buses depart approximately every 20-40 minutes, depending upon time of day).
Line E96 - connects the airport with the port of Pireaus and metro line 1 (buses depart approximately every 20-40 minutes, depending upon time of day).
Cost for bus tickets is approximately Euro 3.
TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE CONGRESS CENTER
All registered participants will be provided on the first day of registration with a travel card. This card is valid for the duration of the Congress for unlimited rides on tram, bus and metro. It is not valid for rides to/from the airport.
The following hotels: Hilton, Divani Caravel, Alexandros and Stratos Vassilikos are within walking distance from the Congress Centre.
The majority of hotels are accessible to the Congress Centre via metro lines 2 and 3.
Hotels Metropolitan, Ledra Marriott and Intercontinental are also accessible to the Congress Centre via bus number 450 and 550 (or until the first metro station within proximity - line 2).

SESSIONS
Please make sure to be in session halls on time as all sessions will begin as per schedule.
POSTERS
Posters are located on two levels. Please follow the signs indicating the poser areas.
Posters will be on display on Sunday and Monday for the duration of one day. Your poster should be displayed as per the number in the Programme. Posters are to be mounted from 08:00 to 09:00 on your assigned day. Please remove your poster at the conclusion of sessions on your assigned day. The Organising Committee will not be responsible for posters that are not removed on time.
Authors are requested to be present at their posters during the poster session for which their poster has been scheduled. At that time, poster chairpersons will be present and discuss posters selected by the Congress Programme Committee.
The best poster of each day will be awarded a poster prize consisting of a travel grant of € 1,500 for participation in the 10 th EFNS Congress, Glasgow, UK, September 2-5, 2006.
LUNCH AND COFFEE BREAKS
On September 18-20 coffee/tea and lunch will be offered as per the breaks indicated in the timetable. Catering areas will be available on all 3 levels of the Megaron.

Speakers and registered participants of the Teaching Courses will receive a voucher for lunch on that day. Lunch will be served in the tent on level 2.

The Certificate of Attendance is included in your participant kit.
PRESS ROOM
A press room with telephone, fax and on-line access is available to registered
journalists. Journalists must register at the Registration Desk. The
press room is located on level 2.

OFFICIAL LETTER OF INVITATION
Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be posted on the Congress website for participants' use. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee or Congress to provide any financial assistance.
PERSONAL INSURANCE
We recommend that all participants take out a personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
