LANGUAGE
English is the official language of the Congress. All presentations will be made in English.
SESSIONS
Please make sure to be in session halls on time as all sessions will begin as per schedule.

SPEAKERS' READY ROOM (oral presentations)
A Speakers' Ready Room will be available for speakers, and will be available every day throughout the Congress.

If using a Powerpoint (or any other computer) presentation, please note you need to bring it on a floppy disk (3.5"/1.44 MB), on a CD or on a "disk on key", using the USB port in the computer and load it on one of the congress' computers in the Speakers' Ready Room, at least 1 hour before the start of the session. You may supply your own laptop computer as a back-up.

If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during a coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session - even after checking it in the Speakers’ Ready Room.
Please note that the congress’ computers in the session halls are being supplied with Windows XP and Office XP (at least).

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MACINTOSH USERS

If using a Macintosh laptop computer, please note that you need to supply your own, confirm that it has a VGA socket for external signal and come to check it first in the Speakers’ Ready Room as soon as you arrive and later on in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during the coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.
Videos (VHS multi-system format) and overhead projectors can be supplied upon availability only. If required, please approach the Speakers’ Ready Room at least two hours prior to the start of the session

Please note that slide projection will not be available.

POSTERS
Posters are located in the Exhibition Hall.

Posters will be on display on Sunday and Monday for the duration of one day. Your poster should be displayed as per the number in the Programme. Posters are to be mounted from 08:00 to 09:00 on your assigned day. Please remove your poster at the conclusion of sessions on your assigned day. The Organising Committee will not be responsible for posters that are not removed on time.

 Authors are requested to be present at their posters during the poster session for which their poster has been scheduled. At that time, poster chairpersons will be present and discuss posters selected by the Congress Programme Committee.

The best poster of each day will be awarded a poster prize consisting of a travel grant of € 1,500 for participation in the 11 th EFNS Congress, Brussels, Belgium, August 25-28, 2007, and a free registration to the 2007 Congress.

LUNCH AND COFFEE BREAKS
On September 3-5 coffee/tea and lunch will be offered as per the breaks indicated in the timetable. Catering areas are located in the Exhibition Hall.

Breaks on Saturday, September 2

Only speakers and registered participants of the Teaching Courses will receive a voucher for lunch on that day. Lunch will be served in the foyer of Hall D (which is located in the Crowne Plaza Hotel).

The following breaks will take place on Saturday, September 2:

INTERNET CAFÉ

An Internet Café kindly sponsored by AstraZeneca will be available for participants' use in the Exhibition Hall during exhibition hours.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
The Certificate of Attendance is included in your participant kit.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE CONFERENCE CENTRE (SECC)
All registered participants will be provided on the first day of registration with a ticket entitling them to unlimited travel in the SPT area on all modes of public transportation during the congress dates: September 2-5.


The ticket will allow unlimited travel in the SPT area on all local rail services, on most bus and some ferry services, and on the Subway system serving Glasgow. The ticket may also be utilised for transport to the Airport on your departure from Glasgow, if departing prior to or on September 5, 2006.

Smoking is prohibited at all times in the meeting halls, exhibit halls and restrooms. Your compliance is appreciated.
MOBILE PHONES
Please note that mobile phones must be switched off during all sessions.
PERSONAL INSURANCE
We recommend that all participants take out a personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
CLIMATE
The average September temperature in Glasgow is between 9°-16°C. Rainfall may be expected throughout the year, so it is advisable to carry an umbrella.
CLOTHING
Informal for all occasions; please bring an umbrella, sunglasses and walking shoes. In the evening, a jacket is recommended.
AIRPORT INFORMATION
Glasgow airport is located 13km (8 miles) west of Glasgow. The M8 Motorway via Junction 28 gives easy access to and from the airport. The airport is about a 20 minute drive from Glasgow city centre and a 15-20 minute drive from SECC, and provides direct access to and from major European and North American cities.

*24 hours a day bus: Bus no.905 runs to central Glasgow, stopping at Glasgow Central station, Queen Street station and Buchanan bus station. Buses are also available to other destinations

* Taxi service is also available. Please follow “Taxi” signs. The cost is around £15-20 and the approximate travel time is 15-20 minutes.
TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM SECC
All registered participants will be provided on the first day of registration with a 4-day travel card. The card offers unlimited travel (i.e. any number of journeys), at any time of the day or night when the relevant services run, on the following modes of public transport:
  1. All First ScotRail local rail services within the area.
  2. The Subway system covering central Glasgow (north and south of the River Clyde).
  3. The services of all local bus operators that participate in this ticketing scheme.
    There are around 80 such participants, representing the overwhelming majority of local service bus operators within the Strathclyde area.
  4. The two ferry services that are supported by SPT (Yoker/ Renfrew and Greenock/ Kilcreggan (Helensburgh). The card is not valid for rides to/from the airport.

    Travel by Rail:
    Glasgow's Central Station is connected with every city in the UK, while Queen Street Station serves central and northern Scotland. Call National Rail Enquiries on: (+44) 0845 7484950.
    The SECC has its own dedicated railway station allowing easy access from the city centre and the suburbs. Four trains an hour from Central Station (Platform 15) will bring you to the front door in less than 10 minutes.

    Travel by Taxi:
    There are taxi ranks throughout the city. Main pick-up points include Buchanan Bus Station, Queen Street and Central Stations and most large hotels. An average journey from the city centre will cost around £3.50.

    Travel by Car:
    SECC is just off Junction 19 of the M8 motorway. On-site parking is available for 3,000 vehicles at £3.50 per day.
