On behalf of the board of ESPID and the organizing committee, we would like to welcome you to the beautiful city of Istanbul for the 19th Annual Meeting of ESPID. The main topic of the meeting is "Epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases". The pre-meeting symposia will also concentrate on vaccine-related issues, mainly on new developments in pediatric vaccines. Additional topics will be discussed during the various sessions. We have no doubt that the mixture of high quality scientific programs and the unique social program that is on offer in the exotic surroundings of Istanbul will ensure that the 19th ESPID will be a memorable experience.
