Abstract Acceptance / abstract replacement

top
Q I have submitted my abstract and received an Internet Receipt Number. Can you confirm that my abstract has indeed arrived?
A.  If you received an Internet Receipt Number it means that your abstract was submitted correctly and will be forwarded to the committee for review.
Q I tried to submit an abstract but I did not get any confirmation number. Has my abstract arrived?
A All abstracts sent by this website should receive a number.
The number is also sent by e-mail to the e-mail address you have provided in the form.
If you have not received a number it means that your abstract has not been submitted properly.
Please resubmit the abstract following all the instructions.

I have submitted an abstract sometime ago but I need to replace it with new one. What should I do?
A.  Please resubmit your abstract via the website and notify the Secretariat by e-mail that you have done so. The latest version of an abstract is the one that will be taken into account.

Adding tables, graphs, images to the abstract

top
Q Is it possible to incorporate a table/graph into the abstract?
A Yes. You can upload tables/graphs/figures as long as they are image files of type .JPG or .BMP

Please note copying and pasting a table into the abstract submission form will distort your table.

Q How do I upload an image file with my abstract?
A

To upload your image, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your image in accordance with the instructions on the abstract form.
  2. On the abstract form, click the Upload Image button. A new window will open (the image-upload window)
  3. On the image-upload window, click the Browse button, browse your local computer or network, locate your image file and select it.
  4. The image file path will appear in the field next to the Browse button.
  5. Click the Submit button.
  6. A "Loading...please wait" message will appear.
  7. If the upload is completed successfully, a confirmation note will appear - with the re-calculated maximum number of words that may now be used in your abstract.
  8. If the upload is not completed, a note explaining the problem will appear.

Q How will the image size affect the number of words in my abstract?
A

Once the image upload is done, the re-calculated maximum number of words will be displayed in the image upload window.

My table is not an image file. How can I convert it to an image file?

A

For this you need an image editing program ( - for example Windows Paint or Adobe Photoshop)

  1. Select the table and Copy it.
  2. Open an image editing program ( - for example Windows Paint or Adobe Photoshop) and create a New file.
  3. Paste.
  4. Adjust the width, the height and the resolution of the image to not exceed the maximum dimensions.
  5. Save as .JPG or .BMP. For JPG, please supply the highest possible quality (between 10-12) to prevent reduction of quality.

Please note changing the file extention only ( - for example renaming mytable.doc to mytable.jpg) will NOT make a valid image file! You MUST use an image editing program in order to create the image file.
