GENOA AND ITS TREASURES – Walking tour
Thursday, September 25th
09:00-14:00

A visit of Genoa, with the largest medieval centre in Europe, will lead you through a charming maze of narrow streets and tiny squares.
The walking tour will begin from the Congress Centre, in the recently renovated port area, and will take you to the medieval Cathedral of Saint Lawrence, with its amazing black and white faade.

Not very far are the Church of the Jesuits, where you will admire two masterpieces by P.P. Rubens, the majestic Palazzo Ducale, which used to be the site of the government of the Republic of Genoa and the little, charming, romanesque church of San Donato.

A walk through the beautiful Piazza De Ferrari, the real heart of the modern city, will lead you to Via Garibaldi. This is the most renowned street of Genoa, with palaces which are in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

After a coffee break in the beautiful courtyard of one of these palaces, you will discover the luxurious interior of one of those beautiful mansions: the Palazzo Rosso.

A walk through the caruggi, the typical narrow streets of the town, will take you back to the Conference Centre.
