Who should come?
Europaediatrics 2003 aims to update paediatricians on recent advances and improvements in treatment across the whole spectrum of practice. It will provide vital information on current best practice for primary care paediatricians and for those in specialist areas of practice who need to keep up to date with general and mainstream paediatric problems. Paediatric residents and nurses will also be welcome.

How it's organised
Each guest speaker will deliver at least two lectures, one on recent scientific advances in his or her field and one giving an overview of current best practice. They will also run workshop and personal practice sessions where delegates can ask questions and discuss clinical problems.

What is it about?
Here's a taster. If you know the answer to all these questions, you needn't come. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you in Prague!

  • How should I manage children with chronic pain syndromes?
  • Am I up to date with the new insights into either functional or organic constipation ?
  • What difference will fetal cardiology make to my clinical paediatric practice?
  • How should the general paediatrician support the child with incurable cancer?
  • What's new in the pharmacology of analgesics for children?
  • What can we learn by listening to parents' organisations?
  • Do children understand the treatment they are given?
  • How ought I to investigate and manage children who lose consciousness and don't have epilepsy?
  • Am I familiar with recent advances in understanding reflex anoxic seizures?
  • Do I know how best to assess and investigate children with slow development ?
  • When did I last read about the research findings on early developmental interventions?
  • Do I provide the best possible health care of the premature and low birthweight infant after discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit?
  • Could I improve the care of my child patients by working more closely with paediatric nurses?
  • Do I understand the implications of follow up studies on brain and behaviour in graduaste of neonatal intensive care?
  • What do I tell my overweight patients? (The obesity epidemic will soon be with you!)
  • Do I understand the physiology of obesity?
