Objective: To report the clinical and histopathologic findings in one case of glaucoma associated with FAP type I .

Methods: Retrospective review of clinical findings and course of one patient with available biopsy material from iris and trabecular meshwork.

Measures: Intraocular pressure and visual field changes during medical and laser therapy, and final surgical outcome.

Results: A 52 year-old white woman suffering from FAP type I with recurrent right palpebral hematomas and anisocoria developed unilateral glaucoma that was poorly responsive to medical therapy and laser trabeculoplasty. IOP control was achieved after trabeculectomy using mitomycin-c. Histopathologic analysis of the iris and trabecular meshwork demonstrated amyloid deposit, suggesting outflow blockade as the possible mechanism of glaucoma.
