Using the original technique, quantitative rates of total, uveoscleral and drainage outflows in healthy humans of different age have been studied.
Group 1 (28 eyes) consisted of 20 – 30-year-old persons. Total out-flow facility coefficient (C total) averaged 0.32±0.04; uveoscleral outflow facility coefficient (C us) composed 0.06±0.01; drainage outflow facility coefficient (C drainage) was 0.26±0.02.
Group 2 (26 eyes) included 31 – 50-year-old person. C total composed 0.31±0.03; C us – 0.08±0.02; C drainage – 0.23±0.03/
Group 3 (60 eyes) included 51-year-old and elderly persons. C total composed 0.29±0.04; C us – 0.14±0.01; C drainage – 0.15±0.03. Thus, with increasing age the drainage outflow considerably decreases and the uveoscleral one grows.
