AGN 192024 is a new synthetic ocular hypotensive agent. In studies of its effect on aqueous humor dynamics in human subjects, AGN 192024 has been shown to lower intraocular pressure by improving the outflow of aqueous humor. Both pressure-sensitive and pressure-insensitive outflow pathways were improved. The tonographic facility of outflow was improved 30% in normal subjects whose intraocular pressure was reduced 20%. Aqueous humor flow was stimulated 13% during the day and 14% during the night by this agent. The improvement in pressure-insensitive outflow was estimated to be approximately 50%.
