Glaucoma as a cronicle disease , demands a long term treatment, during all the life of patients, combining two or more drugs, several administrations, and with a considerable economic impact on patients and familiar lifes. It will be interesting to know how much our prescriptions is affecting the economic balance of our patients .We intervewed 300 patients, from the glaucoma ambulatory, answering to : 1.prescription: drugs and mensal quantity used of prescriptions, 2.Familiar income After posterior analisys, our glaucoma patients used about 35%of their familiar income for clinical treatment, with compromises the eficacy of treatment, we must concern about this., and have in mind how much will be the prescription. In our country we have recently a legal implatation of generical prescriptions, but not all the drugs are disponible on this form. The treatment should be with minimal drugs necessary to control IOP, and with less economical impact.
