EFFECT OF TOPICAL DORZOLAMIDE ON OCULAR BLOOD FLOW AND VISUAL FIELD

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of dorzolamide on ocular blood flow and visual field in normal tension glaucoma.

Methods:49 eyes which were diagnosed as normal tension glaucoma were treated with topical Dorzolamide. Color Doppler ultrasonography and visual field tests were done before and during the treatment. Mean follow up period was 6 months.

Results: Resistivity index of posterior cliary arter and central retinal artery were reduced significantly and also visual field parameters improved.

Conclusion: Dorzolamide has potential of improving ocular circulation and visual function.
