A total of 418 patients participated in the Phase III trial
that compared a fixed combination of timolol and latanoprost to either timolol
or latanoprost. Patients underwent an initial 6 month randomized phase of the
trial and were subsequently offered the opportunity to continue for another six
months in an open label portion of the trial when fixed combination was
administered to all participants. This presentation will provide an overview of
both portions of the study and review the adverse events reported in the study.
As a combination drug, this new medication will be a welcome addition to our
armamentarium considering ongoing issues related to compliance.
