PURPOSE: To evaluate mechanisms of the balneologic and physiotherapeutic treatment in glaucoma patients.
METHODS: 286 glaucoma patients were studied with extended set of the routine methods after the complex treatment including ophthalmophysiotherapy, climate and balneologic therapy, treatment gymnastics at the Sochi heath resort.
RESULTS: After the health resort treatment the significant improvement of the self-condition was established as well as the reduction of fatiguability, normalisation of the sleep, disappearance of the headache. At the same time the positive dynamics for all stages of glaucoma was detected in visual acuity, in haemodynamic indices, in light and color sensitivity over the visual field (Color Campimetry set).
CONCLUSION: The complex balneologic and physiotherapeutic treatment at the Sochi heath resort promote the stabilisation as well as improvement of visual functions and haemodynamic indices in glaucoma patients.
