Panoramic overview from Mount of Olives, overlooking Jerusalem - new city and
the Temple Mount Esplanade of the old city. Travel along the Kidron Valley to view
the Garden of Gethsemane and the walls of the city. Via the Armenian Quarter.
Enter The Western (Wailing) Wall square via the local bazaar to the Christian
Quarter, the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) and the Church of the Holy
Sepulchre – the site of the crucifixion. Walk along the 1700 year old Byzantine
main street, the Cardo, and the renovated Jewish Quarter. Ascend Mt. Zion - Hall
of the last supper, David’s tomb and enter the 500 year old city ramparts. Return
to Renaissance Jerusalem. |

Depart Jerusalem to Tel Aviv for an orientation tour. Drive past Yitzhak Rabin
Square, the Mann Auditorium and Habima - Israel’s National Theatre
A walking tour takes you to Neve Zedek - one of Tel Aviv’s oldest parts (except for
Jaffa which used to be a separate city). Originally, Neve Zedek was built as part of
Jaffa, but later became an integral part of Tel-Aviv. Here you’ll find beautiful 19th
century houses. The central square there is the Suzanne Dellal Dance Center.
Proceed to the colorful and exciting Carmel Market, offering fresh fruits, vegetables,
spices, clothing and more. Continue to Old Jaffa for a tour of the ancient port
with the Artists’ quarter in the renovated Old City.
Return to Jerusalem. |

Dead Sea and Massada |

Depart Jerusalem and drive via the Judean Hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place
on earth. Ascend Massada by cable car to learn about the 2000 year-old fortress
and palace built by King Herod where the Zealots made their last stand against
the Romans. See the remains of the walls, palaces, the synagogue, water cisterns,
mosaic floors, roman bath, etc. Lunch at one of the hotels in the area and experience
a swim in the Dead Sea. Return along the shores driving via Ein Gedi with a stop
at Qumran to view the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Drive
back to Jerusalem with an overview of Jericho and the Old Roman Road. |
