ACCOMPANYING PERSONS PROGRAM
All registered accompanying persons are invited to the following two half-day tours.
TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2003
Castle of Chillon and Montreux
Passing through Lausanne, drive through the countryside and reach the
Castle of Chillon located by the Lake of Geneva. A guided tour of this
medieval fortress and royal residence will be an opportunity to review
history from the 11th to the 16th centuries. This visit will be followed
by a stop in Montreux with shopping before returning to Geneva by motorway.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 2003
Palais des Nations and the old town of Geneva
Since 1946 this vast regal and cultural complex houses numerous UN bodies.
Guided visits enable one to gain access to the renowned conference rooms
where many international agreements have been negotiated.
Continue on a short bus ride for a stroll along the cobblestone streets
of Geneva's old town, dominated by St. Peter's Cathedral, the historic
Reformation Wall and some impressive ancient and modern architecture.
Departure for both tours will be from the Conference Registration Desk
at the Palexpo Congress Center at 09:00 and return at 13:00 (approximately).

MONDAY, MAY 26, 2003
CHAMONIX (Tour 1)
09:00-17:00
Drive via the White Highway to the prestigious alpine resort of Chamonix.
Travel by cable car to the top of Aiguille du Midi (3800m/11550ft) and
enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the Swiss, French and Italian Alps.
If the weather permits, you will be able to see the Matterhorn. Free time
for a visit to the charming village of Chamonix is also part of this excursion.
(Citizens of certain countries require a visa to France as well as a re-entry visa to Switzerland)

THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2003
GRUYERE AND BERNE (Tour 2)
09:00-17:00
Drive to Fribourg: discover the small but lovely village of Gruyere. Afterwards
visit a cheese factory with a demonstration and exhibition. Experience
a typical Swiss lunch at the factory. After lunch drive to Berne, for
an enjoyable City Tour with an English-speaking guide including the following
attractions: the Rose garden, the Bearpits, the Clock Tower, the Cathedral
and the embassy quarter. Return to Geneva.
Price: CHF 147.00.- per person (lunch included)
Rates for tours are based on a minimum of 15 participant.
Rates include guide, lunch, city tour and entrance fees.
