LOCATION
The 9th International Conference on The Mechanical Behaviour of Materials
will take place at the Palexpo Conference Center, Geneva, Switzerland.
Palexpo is located next to Geneva International Airport and served by
railway and with a regular bus service from the city and direct motorway
access.
All session halls, posters, exhibitions and refreshment facilities are
located in one complex.

Fees include:
- Participant:
Admission to all sessions, book of abstracts, proceedings (on CD), lunches,
coffee breaks, free transport on all Geneva local buses (TPG) for the
duration of the Conference and welcome reception.
- Student (with proof of student status*) :

- Accompanying Persons:
Welcome reception, two tours scheduled to take place during session
hours, free transport on all Geneva local buses (TPG) for the duration
of the Conference. Arrangements will be made for the purchase of lunch
tickets at Palexpo.
REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY
Refund of registration fees will be made as follows:
Faxed, electronically mailed or post-marked:
- Prior to March 15, 2003: full refund less US$ 50 handling fee
- From March 16, 2003 - April 15, 2003: 50% refund
- After April 16, 2003: no refund.
LANGUAGE
The official language of the Conference is English. All abstracts should
be submitted and presented in English.

Informal for all occasions.
CLIMATE
Being 416m above sea level, the weather in Geneva in May is that of late
spring, somewhat unpredictable with temperatures varying between 15 to
25°C.
VISA
We recommend that you ask your travel agent to check if you need a visa
for Switzerland and or France for those who are joining tours to France.
Please note: for tours to France, a re-entry visa for Switzerland may
be necessary.
LETTER OF INVITATION
Upon request, the conference secretariat will send a personal invitation
to participate in the conference. It should be understood that such an
invitation is only meant to help participants raise travel funds or obtain
a visa, and does not represent a commitment on the part of the organizers
to provide any financial support.
CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
Certificates of attendance may be obtained upon request, on site at the
conference.
LIABILITY & INSURANCE
The Conference Secretariat and Committees cannot accept liability for
personal accidents, loss of or damage to private property of participants,
students and accompanying persons, either during, or directly arising
from the 9th International Conference on the Mechanical Behaviour of Materials.
Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health
and travel insurance.
