farming land, which played a major role in the 18th century
Scottish Agricultural Revolution and now produces some of
the best barley in Scotland.
Glenkinchie Distillery is set in 17 acres of such farmland

of Scotland. View the museum in the old malting house. After
a tour of the distillery, there will be time for a taste of
this Malt. Proceed to Direlton for a visit of the ruined castle,

Royal Edinburgh
Thursday, October 7, 2004 13:30 -17:30 hrs
This city tour of Edinburgh will give a panorama impression
of Scotland's capital city, starting with the New Town of
Edinburgh and then moving on to the Royal Mile in the Old
Town, where a guided tour of the Palace of Holyrood House
is taken. Located at the Eastern end of the Royal Mile, the
Palace of Holyrood House was originally established as a monastery
back in the 12th century, but gradually it was turned into
a royal residence. Several events in the time of Mary Queen
of Scots took place here - most notably so the murder of Rizzio
- the Queen's secretary. Still used by the Royal Family when
visiting Scotland, it is still a very living part of Scottish
history.
Proceed to Edinburgh's historic port and view the splendid
buildings of the old town on the Water of Leith, as well as
the exciting new developments. Experience the former Royal
Yacht Britannia, now occupying a permanent berth in Leith
during this tour.
Rate per person £37.50

and Countess of Mansfield. The former crowning place of Scottish
Kings, Scone Palace boasts a magnificent collection of antiques
- in particular of ivories, porcelain, clocks and tapestries.

areas - The Trossachs region which is known as "The Highlands
