Submission of Abstracts
The extended deadline for the submission of Abstracts is May 28, 2006.
Introduction Participants are invited to submit abstracts relating to any of the categories listed below. The abstracts for all presentations given will be published in a supplement to the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer and subsequently available through Medline.
Abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Committee for presentation either orally or as poster presentation. You may indicate your preference when submitting your abstract, however, the committee’s decision is final.
Please follow the instructions listed below step-by-step. After submission you will receive an acceptance message. Should you not hear anything further regarding your submission before July 8, 2006, please contact the secretariat.
It is recommended that you register for the meeting at the same time that you submit your abstracts. Authors of presentations not registered and paid before August 3, 2006 will be removed from the program.

Guidelines for Preparation of Abstracts
The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the Secretariat.
Please note that abstract content may be edited at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.

Rules for submission to the IGCS-11
- All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English speaker, by a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility) or by a copy editor, prior to submission.
- Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the first occurrence of the full word.
- Use generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.
- Abstracts stating: “data will be discussed in the presentation” will NOT be accepted.
- Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by August 3, 2006 will be scheduled for presentation and included in the Book of Abstracts.
- The Scientific Program Committee will review abstracts and information regarding acceptance, and scheduling will be sent to the corresponding author via the email address provided on the Abstract Submission Form.
Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
- Presenting author's contact details; include full mailing address, office hours phone number and email address.
- Presentation type preference (poster presentation / oral presentation)
- Abstract category – please prepare your choice of topic after consulting the list of categories.
- Author or authors' names: initial(s) of first name(s), family name
- Affiliation details of all authors: department; institution / hospital; city; state (if relevant); country
- Abstract title (limited to 20 words)
- Tables or graphs which you wish to include in the abstract. Images should be submitted in JPG/BMP format, maximum width 9.5cm, maximum height 13.5cm, and resolution up to 150dpi. Click here for more guidelines.
- Abstract text – limited to 250 words (fewer if a figure is included in the abstract).
Abstracts must use the following structured format:
- Background and aims
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions (avoid evasive statements like "the findings will be discussed".
Uncommon abbreviations must be defined on first use.
- We recommend using word-processing software (for example Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Typing your text directly into the field is not recommended:
a: You will not be able to see the abstract after pressing the Submit button
b: You will not have a copy
c: You cannot check the number of words
