Abstracts CD-ROM

The IGCS Council wishes to advise that as part of the campaign to preserve the environment, all abstracts for the IGCS-12 Bangkok Meeting will be available on CD-Rom only.
Participants will be able to print abstracts directly from computers, on site, that have been especially provided for this purpose.
In addition, available abstracts have been linked to the scientific program published on this website.

Climate

The climate in Bangkok is tropical.
Average temperature is 28° C.

Clothing

Informal for all occasions.
Light jacket or sweater is recommended for evenings.

Badges

All participants, accompanying persons and exhibitors are kindly requested to wear their badges throughout the meeting in order to be admitted to the lecture halls and other scheduled activities.

Airport Information

Bangkok's International Suvarnabhumi Airport is designated to be the aviation hub in the Southeast Asian region.

Please note that all foreign passengers are required to pay Passenger Service Charge when leaving Thailand.
Transportation services are available 24 hours a day from the Airport Public Transportation Centre.
BMTA Public bus operates 24 hours a day and the fare is 35 Baht.
Taxis are also available and charge according to electronic meter fare plus 50 Baht surcharge and expressway fees.

Banking & Exchange

The currency in Thailand is the Baht.
Exchange offices are available in the central area 7 days a week between 9am–7pm.
Most local banks are open Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday between 10am-7pm.
Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants.

Electricity Supply

The electrical current in Thailand is 220 volts AC.

Food & Beverages

Business lunches and coffee/tea during breaks (as indicated in the program), are included in the registration fee.

Visitor Visa Requirements

Please note that Thailand has various and specific entry visa requirements.

Please check with your local Thai embassy/consulate or travel agent regarding your entry visa.
It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visitor visa if required and this process should be processed well in advance.

Letter of Invitation

A personal letter of invitation will be available on the IGCS 12 meeting website. This invitation is meant only to help visitors raise travel funds or to obtain a visa, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support. Applications for invitation letters must be received at least 30 days prior to the Meeting.

Certificate of Attendance

Certificates of attendance will be available for all participants at the registration desk from Monday, October 27, 2008.

Insurance

The Meeting Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to private property of participants and accompanying persons, either during or indirectly arising from the 12th Biennial Meeting International Gynecologic Cancer Society. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
