There, visit the most colorful floating markets of the country at Damnoen Saduak. Continue to Nakorn Pathom province to visit Thailand’s biggest pagoda. Afterwards, continue on to the Rose Garden, where you will have lunch before attending a cultural show introducing Thai sports and folk dances. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2008Klong Tour09:30-13:30 This tour leads us through the canals of Bangkok’s sister city, Thonburi. Get to know the life by the river that has not changed for decades. That tour includes a visit to the Royal Barges Museum. This fleet of magnificently carved and decorated boats is used for royal ceremonies. Afterwards move on to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. From its 79-metre-high pagoda, enjoy a gorgeous view of riverside Bangkok POST-MEETING TOURSWEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2008Rice Barge Cruise09:30 -13:30 On this afternoon tour enjoy a swift long-tail speedboat ride down the Chao Phraya River and networks of khlongs (canals) - the waterways that earned Bangkok its ‘Venice of the East’ title. En route you’ll see riverside lifestyles, houses on stilts and children playing in the water. The return journey is onboard a converted rice barge. Seasonal fruits and cold drinks will be served as you enjoy a gentle cruise and the majestic sights dotted along the ‘River of Kings’. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2008Ayuthaya Tour including lunch06:30 – 16:30 Pick up from hotel at 06:30 am. (Depart by coach; Return trip by River Sun Cruise) 7.30 Check-in at the River City Shopping Complex, Si Phraya. 8.00 Depart by coach from the River City Shopping Complex. 9.30 Arrive at the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, built during the Ayutthaya era. The palace is beautifully decorated in both traditional Chinese and European style. 10.30 Arrive at Ayutthaya, the Ancient City, which was the former Thai capital for over 400 years. Nowadays the glory and the beauty of the grand palace and temples of its past has vanished, leaving merely a glimpse of ruins, despite this it is a good reflection of the past. - Wat Maha That: Over 600 years old, Wat Maha That is the heart and soul of the Ayutthaya people. It was almost completely destroyed by the Burmese during Thai-Burmese war. - Wat Na Phra Mane: Remains in perfect condition, as it was used as the Burmese headquarters. The splendid Golden Buddha, dressed in regal attire, was placed in the temple along with the three thousand-year-old green stone carved Buddha. Both are considered as extremely valuable national relics. - Wat Lokayasutharam: has a mysterious past, whereby its origins are unknown. The temple enshrines a largest reclining Buddha image which was built during the early period of the Ayutthaya Region. The other two ancient temples, as well as the ruined site also surround the compound area. 12.30 Depart Wat Lokayasutharam for the river cruise, at the traditional Thai style pier at Wat Pho Tang Nua, Ayutthaya. Buffet Lunch. Afternoon - Coffee Break Throughout the journey you are able to watch the Chao Phraya River banks scenery from the cruise, either on deck in the fresh cool tropical air or from the refreshing air-conditioned passenger room. Get a clear view of the life of the inhabitants that dwell along the river, and the unforgettable scene of children as they greet the visitors going by, making it an altogether worthwhile experience. - Arriving at the city, pass the Royal Grand Palace, pass by Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn).
