Dear Colleagues,

During the last decade solid information was accumulated to suggest that atherosclerosis, 
although caused by traditional risk factors (i.e hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes mellitus,
obesity, smoking, etc.), is accelerated as well as triggered by inflammatory, infectious and
autoimmune causes. The time is ripe for researchers and clinicians to gather and to discuss
the data existing so far and to implement novel therapeutic modalities based on this
information.

The pleasant atmosphere of Geneva (Switzerland) is the ideal place to deliver and discuss these topics and ideas on 8-11 March, 2001.
