LETTER FROM
THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

We, the Organizing Committee, take great pleasure in inviting you to the 4th International Meeting on Interventional Cardiology (INVC) in London, UK. The dates of the Meeting remain June 24 - 27, 2001.

Many of the world's prominent leaders in the field of Interventional Cardiology will participate in the 4th INVC Meeting. The high standard of the Scientific Program will be maintained.

The field of Interventional Cardiology is in the process of rapid growth undergoing constant innovative and evolutionary changes, combining novel catheter-based technologies with new frontiers in pharmaceutical and molecular biology research. With the field of molecular biology and cellular engineering making an impact, the search for better treatment modalities using these tools is already at high pace. To accelerate research initiatives and optimize patient care strategies, it is of utmost importance to enhance the flow of information and ideas among the deeply committed researchers and clinicians involved in this field. It is within this field that sophisticated engineering technologies are tightly linked to biological vascular processes and molecular biology and adjunct pharmacology.

Similar to previous years several hot topics will be highlighted during the meeting, including novel molecular angiogenesis strategies; vascular molecular biology; restenosis solutions; stents and stent coatings; adjunctive drug therapy; coronary brachytherapy; minimally invasive surgery; congestive heart failure and vascular closure devices. The meeting will include a number of key faculty members who will have the responsibility of organizing the curriculum, supervising mini-symposiums and discussions, as well as selecting abstracts for oral and poster presentations. The scientific program of the Meeting will also be augmented by a new feature of practical, Digital Video Demonstration (DVD) sessions presenting both current trends in therapy as well as novel transcutaneous methodologies.

A pre-meeting satellite symposium on Antiproliferative Drug Eluting Stents will deal with the latest developments on this topic, presenting the different Preclinical and clinical research that is currently underway. Will it be the next revolution in this surprizing and dynamic field?

DO NOT MISS IT!

London is an exciting, bustling city! Teeming with a wealth of historical, cultural and scientific museums, not to mention the galleries, landmark buildings and excellent restaurants. London is famous for outstanding theatre, concerts, music and ballet performances. This is the "Wimbledon Season" - we hope that you will enjoy it (for more information please refer to the Meeting website). Ranging from the sublime to the bizarre, London has something of interest to offer all.

We look forward to your joining us in London, in what promises to be an exciting Meeting with a stimulating high scientific standard and an interesting social program.

Yours sincerely,
