Desks will operate as follows:

Sunday, July 25 at the Jerusalem International Convention Center from

17.00-21.00 hours.
Monday, July 26 – Thursday, July 29 at the Jerusalem International Convention Center from 08.00 until the end of sessions each day.

CONGRESS KIT AND NAME TAG

Upon registering you received your Congress kit containing program, abstract book, name badge, invitations to social events, etc. Please wear your badge to all sessions and events.

Please apply to the Information Desk.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Participants requiring a Certificate of Attendance should apply to the Registration Desk.

INFORMATION FOR PRESENTERS


Please check your program in case of last minute scheduling changes.

PROJECTION

Double slide and overhead projection are available in all sessions. Presenters who did not order video projection or projection from a computer in advance are requested to inform the Secretariat immediately. A slide viewing area is located near the session halls.

POSTERS

Poster presenters should refer to the list of Poster Presentations in the program for the day of their presentation(s) and the board number(s).
Posters scheduled for Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27 should be mounted from 17:00 on Sunday ,August 25 and should be removed by 18:30 on Tuesday, August 27. Posters scheduled for Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29 should be mounted from 07:00 on Wednesday, August 28 and removed by 18:00 on Thursday, August 29.

ABSTRACT INDEX

The number appearing on the right hand side of each presentation is the page number where the abstract of that presentation is printed in the Congress Book of Abstracts.

 

LOCAL INFORMATION


LANGUAGE

Israel is a cosmopolitan country where you will hear a variety of languages on the street. You should have no difficulty in communicating.

TIME

Israel is presently 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

CURRENCY AND BANKING

Israel’s currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). All major international credit cards are honored by most businesses and restaurants. As a general rule banking hours are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 08:30-12:00 or 12:30

Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday: 08:30-12:30 and 16:00-17:30
Saturday: closed

TIPPING

Tipping is at your discretion. In restaurants, if service is not included in the bill 10-15% is considered normal. It is not customary to tip taxi drivers.

VALUE ADDED TAX

VAT exemption applies to many goods paid for by tourists in a foreign currency. However, you should check this with the individual store. There is no VAT in Eilat.

TRANSPORT

Egged is the largest inter-city bus company and operates an extensive service throughout the country. Inter-city buses generally depart from the Central Bus Stations. The Central Bus Station in Jerusalem is situated at Egged House, Jaffa St.

Taxis can be ordered through the hotel front desk, the driver should operate the meter which will display the price. Prices for inter-urban journeys should be agreed before the start of the journey and there is a recommended price list issued to drivers by the Ministry of Transport.

DRINKING WATER

It is safe to drink the tap water in Israel.

ELECTRICITY

Electrical equipment in Israel is 220 volt AC, single phase, 50 cycles. Some appliances require an adapter for the plug (can be purchased locally). Most hotel bathrooms have a 110V socket for electric shavers only.
