MEXICO CITY AIRPORT
- Mexico City International Airport is located 13 km (8 miles) east
of the city center and is served directly by taxis, buses and the Metro.
- Taxis - Travel time to downtown Mexico City is approximately 35 minutes.
Tickets can be purchased from clearly marked taxi counters inside the
terminal.
- Buses - Bus companies provide direct routes from the airport to several
hotels in the city center and usually run until 11pm - midnight.
- Metro - The station at the airport is on Metro Line 5 and will take
you to the city center. This is the least expensive choice of transport
and is a good way to get around the city. Trains pass at a frequency
of every 10 minutes and do not run after 1:00 am.
CANCUN AIRPORT
Cancun International Airport is 16 km south west of the heart
of Cancun City, and 10 km from the southern most point of the hotel zone.
Many international carriers serve Cancun on a daily basis.
A counter at the airport exit sells bus tickets called "colectivos"
which cost approximately US$ 10 per ticket. Private taxis are available
at the rate of approximately US$ 45, maximum 3 persons per taxi. Government-subsidized
cabs are also available - the driver will accept the taxi vouchers sold
at stands inside or just outside the airport. The trip takes approximately
half an hour.
AIRPORT ARRIVAL SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
A shuttle bus service from Cancun Airport to the official Symposium
hotels will be arranged for registered ISME-10 participants who have paid
for this in advance. The service will operate on Sunday August 22, 2004
at designated hours throughout the day. The shuttle service will cost
US$ 12 per person and in order to make use of this service, participants
will be required to pay and provide their flight details no later than
Tuesday July 20, 2004.
The times of shuttle buses leaving Cancun Airport to the official
symposium hotels are as follows:
10.15am, 11.30am, 13.45pm, 14.30pm, 15.15pm, 16.00pm, 17.00pm, 18.00pm,
19.00pm, 20.00pm, 21.00pm, 22.30pm
Important:
Please be advised that every effort will be made to operate the shuttle
service at the departure times listed above. However, the departure times
are subject to flight arrival delays, extended custom clearance procedures
and other reasons beyond our control.
NOTE: After baggage claim, you will be required to pass customs control
- this may take a long time. You are required to push a button - a green
light will allow you to proceed - a red light will require you to open your
luggage for a random security check.
After customs control, please proceed to outside the building where you
will find our local English/Spanish- speaking staff awaiting your arrival
in order to direct you to the shuttle buses.
Please look for the "ISME" signs.
Baggage handling is not included in the shuttle fee. If you request assistance
with your baggage,
US$ 1 should be paid directly to the porter.
