ISME SOCIETY
ISME was originally established in 1977 as the International Committee on Microbial Ecology (ICME) and in 1998 became the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME).
Today ISME and its international Symposia have become focal points for disseminating information on Microbial Ecology.
In 2007 ISME in cooperation with Nature Publishing Group started a new Journal, The ISME Journal. Together, The ISME Journal editorial team and NPG look to further define and shape the field of microbial ecology: http://www.nature.com/ismej/marketing/index.html
