Dear colleagues and friends,

As organizers of the first three ISOPP congresses which took place in Geneva, Munich and Lisbon, we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend our 4th exciting meeting. The symposium will take place in the beautiful city of Seville in Spain, February 28 - March 3rd, 2002.

The International Symposium of Ocular Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics - ISOPP, focuses on drug development and the implementation of novel drug products in common practice. ISOPP's content and structure is dictated by two major goals:

  • To maintain a discussion forum and brain storming for those involved in ocular drug development

  • To provide a comprehensive update on clinical ocular pharmacology

Significant progress in ocular pharmacology over the last two decades resulted in an unprecedented number of new effective drugs. An extensive search for new antiangiogenic drugs for AMD, blood flow modulators and neuroprotectants is currently pursued. These new directions that are led mutually by the industry and the academy may eventually transform the way we perceive and treat classic ophthalmic pathology.

Since its establishment in 1995, ISOPP has become a meeting place for pharmaceutical based personnel, academicians, clinicians and drug regulatory officers. This unique combination of professionals stimulates discussion of topics mutual to all drug companies and will include:

  • Pharmacoeconomics

  • Pharmacoregulation

  • Import of technologies from their origins in academic institutions to be developed as products.

In addition, ISOPP4 will update participating ophthalmologists on most major clinical topics including: glaucoma, inflammation, infection, neuroprotection, angiogenesis, blood flow and drug delivery.

Special registration fees will be offered to residents and fellows in training in order to support the education of young professionals.

We look forward to welcoming you to Seville in 2002, and hope that this meeting will be a stimulating and memorable experience for all of you,

Yours sincerely,

Ron Neumann  Sara Krupsky
