Drive down the exciting La Gran Via and the Plaza Mayor. End the tour with a visit to the Planet Hollywood Madrid and enjoy a drink.

 

Escorial - Valle de Los Caidos

The Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is an imposing building, dating back to the 16th Century. The building was commanded by King Philip II and was designed and built by the Spanish architect Juan de Herrera. Throughout the past centuries, many renowned artists worked on the Monastery, which is now a memorial for the Kings and Queens of Spain. It is considered the Eighth Wonder of the World. Continue to the Guadarrama Mountains and view a memorial monument build for those who died during the Spanish Civil War (1936 - 1939). Visit the Monastery with its bold basilica dug out of the granite mountain and a dramatic stone cross 150 meters in height.
