File type:
File must be an image. For more
information please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.
BMP files are acceptable but JPG files are highly recommended due to reduction in file size.
For JPG compression please supply the highest possible quality (between 10-12).
Resolution:
The image resolution must not be more than 150 DPI.
Lettering should be:
- In a sans serif typeface (preferably Helvetica or Arial)
- In the same typeface throughout
- Not placed directly over images or shaded areas
- Bold upright (not italic) and lowercase when labeling multipart figures
- In one-letter code in Courier for amino acid sequences
- Between 6 and 8 point for labels
Lines:
Ensure that lettering will remain readable after reduction (avoid large
type or thick lines) - we recommend that lines are between 0.5 and 1 point
