Call for Abstracts

Submission of abstracts to the conference is now closed!

Participants who would like to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee as a ‘Late-Breaking Poster Presentation’ may do so by contacting the secretariat at pcics@kenes.com

Abstracts must be submitted in English and the presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the Secretariat.

Late breaking abstracts will appear in an Addendum to the Abstract & Program books.

Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published on the website prior to the Symposium.

Rules for submission

  • Only abstracts submitted online via the link below will be sent to the Scientific Committee for review.
  • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
  • You will receive confirmation that your abstract has been sent for review, indicating the abstract number which it has been allocated. Please refer to the abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
  • If you have not received confirmation of receipt by November 28, 2007, please contact the Secretariat.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by December 12, 2007 will be scheduled for presentation and included in the Book of Abstracts

Guidelines for Submission

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
  1. Presenting author's contact details; include full mailing address, office hours phone number and email address.
  2. Presentation type preference (poster presentation / oral presentation)
  3. Author or authors' names: initial(s) of first name(s), family name
  4. Affiliation details of all authors: department; institution / hospital; city; state (if relevant); country
  5. Abstract title (limited to 20 words) in UPPER CASE
  6. Figures, tables or graphs which you wish to include in the abstract should be image files.
    Images should be submitted in JPG/BMP format, maximum width 13cm, maximum height 18cm and resolution up to 150dpi. Click here for more guidelines.
  7. Abstract text – limited to 250 words (fewer if a figure is included in the abstract)
    We recommend using word-processing software (for example Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Typing your text directly into the field is not recommended:
    a: You will not be able to see the abstract after pressing the Submit button
    b: You will not have a copy
    c: You cannot check the number of words
  8. Abstracts are to be submitted in the following format:
    Background and aims/Introduction
    Methods
    Results
    Conclusions
