Scientific program aims and outline
The principal aims of the scientific program are:
- Presentation of recent advances and future challenges in rehabilitation
science.
- Linking clinical practice in P&RM to basic science through presentation
of theory-driven procedures of assessment & intervention.
- Emphasis on outcome measurement & evidence-based P&RM.
- Integration and cooperation of P&RM with other medical and paramedical
professions.
The program includes plenary sessions on topics of general interest as
well as parallel sessions on more specific issues, in accord with the
following list of topics. Invited keynote speakers will participate in
plenary and collateral free paper sessions. Collateral poster sessions
will be organized so as to provide ample time for discussion of each presentation.
Leading scientists and experts will conduct workshops and short courses.
Special interactive sessions will provide opportunity for exchange of
opinions regarding issues like: "Scope of the specialty and role
of the rehabilitation physician"; "The aims of rehabilitation.
Whose aims?"; "Rehabilitation in conditions of limited resources".
Industry sponsored satellite symposia will be organized during lunch breaks
and after closure of the daily scientific program.
A prize will be awarded for the best submission made by an author under
the age of 35.
