SATELLITE MEETING
A Satellite Workshop on Postharvest Heat Treatments Effects on Commodity, Pathogens and Insect Pests will be held on March 23-24, 2000, prior to the conference. It is supported by the Binational United States-Israel Research and Development Fund (BARD) and will consist of invited speakers arranged around four major topics:

• Heat treatments for fruits and vegetables
• Heat treatment and plant-pathogen interaction
• Heat treatment and insects
• The technology and economics of heating

Each section will conclude with a round table discussion, where advances and challenges will be explored. Scientists interested in attending this workshop, to be held prior to PostHarvest 2000, are invited to contact S. Lurie to receive the program, further details and the registration form.
