Prediabetes and the Metabolic Syndrome are highly prevalent conditions, affecting between one in six and one in three adults in most developed countries, as well as the urban areas of many developing countries.

On this background the 1st International Congress on Prediabetes and the Metabolic Syndrome was successfully organized in Berlin in 2005 attracting close to 2500 participants from 83 countries.

The 2nd International Congress on Prediabetes and the Metabolic Syndrome will provide a platform for both doctors and pharmaceutical companies to present their studies and the many new developments in prevention of diabetes and CVD.
