TEL AVIV-JAFFA
A predominantly modern city, Tel Aviv presents a skyscraper facade along Ha'Yarkon Street, which fronts the coast and contains the city's major hotels, most popular beaches and an unlimited number of pubs and open-air cafes. Within walking distance of the congress venue, you will find a large shouk (market) filled with fruits, vegetables, clothes and Israeli Souvenirs. Hop into a taxi, car, bus or shuttle and in a matter of minutes arrive at one of Israeli's many shopping malls, bustling with shoppers of all ages, at any time of the day. By contrast, the ancient port city of Jaffa, is almost gothic in appearance although, it is here that you will find the best fish restaurants in the city. Tel Aviv is the home of Bar-Ilan University and Tel Aviv University, as well as of the Israeli National theater, Habimah, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The Tel Aviv Museum, the Ha'aretz Museum, the Museum of the Diaspora, and a zoo add to the cultural life of the city. Tel Aviv is the economic, financial, commercial, and cultural center of Israel.
