Pick-up and drop off will be from Congress Hotels. All tours include
entrance fees as per itinerary and touring in an air-conditioned bus with the
service of an English-speaking guide. Rates for all tours are based on minimum
15 participants per tour. Changes in routes, departure/arrival times may occur
for reasons beyond our control. Please bring comfortable walking shoes and sun
hats. Modest attire is requested to holy sites during the Jerusalem and Galilee
tours. Men should wear long pants and women should keep their shoulders covered.
Tours throughout Israel will be offered at the congress excursion desk to give

B. Jerusalem Old and New City

Drive to the picturesque neighborhood of Ein Kerem, birthplace of
John the Baptist. Continue to Mount Herzl, burial site of the late Prime
Minister Rabin before reaching modern Jerusalem and the new Supreme Court
building, famous for its magnificent architecture. You will also pass the
Knesset - Israel's parliament where you will see Benno Elkin's famous
"Menorah". Driving through the Valley of the Cross you will arrive at
the Haas Promenade, which affords a magnificent view of Jerusalem, continuing to
Mount Scopus Observation Point where the Old City appears in all its glory.
Drive around the ancient Old City walls built by Sultan Suliman the Magnificent
in 1517, with its centuries old seven open gates and the sealed golden gate,
which will, according to legend, be opened by the Messiah when he comes.
Enter the Old City of Jerusalem by the Dung Gate where the tour will continue on
foot. See the splendid Temple Mount of the Dome of the Rock and El Aksa Mosque.
Proceed on to the "Western Wall", the site of both the first and
second Temples and the most holy Jewish site in Jerusalem. It was here that
Abraham was called to sacrifice Isaac. Continue by foot through the
reconstructed Jewish Quarter and onto the Cardo with its colonnaded Roman city
streets. Experience the oriental market's exotic sounds and smells as you
continue on to the Via Dolorosa. Follow Jesus' route to Calvary as he carried
the cross all the way to the magnificent Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Exit the
old city through Jaffa Gate where you will find yourself back in the 20th
century!

After sessions depart from your hotel and drive through the Jordan Valley
to the Sheik Hussein Border crossing following border formalities you will enter
Jordan.
Take a short drive to the impressive Arab Castle, where the forces of Salah
Eddin launched their campaigns against the Crusaders. Proceed to the ancient
city of Jerash, known as Pompeii of the East, where you can see the triple
arched gate, the huge hippodrome, the theater and the Roman Forum which is
surrounded by 63 impressive lonic columns.

After breakfast drive south along the desert highway, to Petra, the
"must see" of Jordan, you will experience the wonders of this
magnificent city, which is hewn in the red sandstone.
Part of the tour of this renowned capital of the Nabatean kingdom is on
horseback; continue on foot to the great Treasury, the small Temple and the
Roman theater, nesting between magnificent obelisks and cabves out of the
imposing rock.
