THE OLD CITY - THE HISTORICAL PENINSULA
Visit the Hippodrome - the centre of civil activities of Constantinople; the Blue Mosque - unique in the Islamic world, with six minarets and the blue tiles striking both for their colour and the immense area over which they are displayed; and St. Sophia Museum - reconstructed in 532 AD by the Emperor Justinian, which stands as a magnificent example of architecture.

FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2001

HALF DAY BOSPHORUS CRUISE
Bosphorus Cruise (3.5 hours): Transportation will be provided to the pier to embark on a private boat for a cruise along the Bosphorus, the most picturesque strait between the two continents, Asia and Europe. Disembarkation will be at Sarıyer, a fishing village at the European Shore of the Bosphorus.
