Student Poster Competition

Who is invited?

All graduate students who finished their thesis during the last 2 years at one of the Israeli universities and those who are currently at an advanced stage of research, are welcome to present a poster describing findings at the WATEC 2007 Conference.


Place and time

The posters will be displayed throughout the meeting at one of the central halls.


Judgment committee

The committee will include academic, industry and governmental representatives, headed by Prof. Haim Gvirtzman from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The committee will evaluate the posters and announce the winning students at noontime on October 31.


Prize granting ceremony

Awards will be granted to the winning students during the final session of the conference. The prizes will be several thousand dollars each!

Major competition topics

  1. Development of a new method for sewage recycling.
  2. Development of a new method for water desalination.
  3. Development of a tool for production planning of natural water resources.
  4. Development of a new method for monitoring water quality.
  5. Development of a remote-sensing method of water quality.
  6. Development of a new method for increasing the available natural water resources.
  7. Development of a new method for saving water.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POSTERS
Please note the following information regarding your presentation:
  • Posters may be prepared on one sheet (preferred method) or alternatively on several smaller sheets.
  • It is recommended that your poster be 90 cm wide x 120 cm high.
  • Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors, as stated on the submitted abstract.
  • The text, illustrations, etc., should be bold enough to be read from a distance of two meters.
  • Tacks and technical equipment will be available for the hanging of posters.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRESENTATION OF POSTERS
  • Your poster should be mounted by 09:00 hours on Tuesday, October 30 and removed by 17:30 hours, on Thursday, November 1st. The Organizing Committee and Secretariat cannot be responsible for posters that have not been removed by this time.
  • You are requested to stand next to your poster during the coffee and lunch breaks for informal discussions.
  • It is imperative that you will be present at your poster for the Poster Session (date and time will be advised later on).
  • Each poster board will include an envelope in which you may place A4 reprints of your poster or relevant material.
  • Please refer to the Final Program for the poster board number assigned to you.
  • Please use the board with the same number.
