Budapest, the Pearl of Danube
Saturday, February 5, 2005 09:00 - 13:00 hours
Visit the Fishermen's Bastion, a small neo-Romanesque fort from the
turn of the century, which offers a magnificent view of Pest and the
Danube with the Margaret Island.
Continue to Matthias Church, after a short walk view this historic area
from the southern end of Castle Hill to the formal Royal Palace of Buda.
The tour continues to the Gellert Bath and the Liberation Statue on
Gellert Hill.
Having completed the tour of Buda, proceed to the Pest side, which includes
the Grand market Hall, the Hungarian State Opera House, which is one
of the most impressive public buildings in the country. Visit Heroes'
Square and end the tour with a visit to the neo-Gothic Parliament Building.
Departure at 09:00 and return at 13:00 (approximately).
