THE 13th ANNUAL ADVANCED INTERVENTIONAL PAIN CONFERENCE and PRACTICAL WORKSHOP and FIPP EXAMINATION PREPARATION COURSE | Budapest Hungary | September 8-10, 2008

GREETINGS

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I take great pleasure to invite you to attend the 13th Interventional Pain Conference,
which will be held September 8-10, 2008. The FIPP examination will be held on
September 11, 2008.

Most of the pains that we are treating in one way or other is NEUROPATHIC and as such our armamentarium is not only neuromodulation techniques, nerve blocks, injection and infusion approaches but significant portion of our patients receive medication and functional restoration and psychological interventions as well. The intention is to bring the new developments to the participating physicians and provide the best possible information to better take care of our patients.

The World Congresses provide the forum of more time to get the basic scientists and their new information and the clinicians together so that clinical and basic science has a better chance to interact. Again for the solitary purpose of taking better care of our patients.

The faculty consists of renowned professionals and high-quality practitioners, who will present based on evidence as well as clinical experience. As the conference is devised around teaching and learning for better patient care, we have no doubt that at the conference end, all participants will be enriched within our specialized field of pain treatment.

Participants applying to the examination preparation course will encounter academic and “hands-on” training. The FIPP exam tests for patient safety, breadth of knowledge and provides an opportunity to document the candidates’ skills. The examiners are recognized experts, each holding a “Scottie dog” scarf or tie, as all have passed the FIPP Examination.

Situated in the heart of Central Europe, Budapest is easily accessible and one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. It is the capital and the cultural, economic and scientific centre of Hungary. Budapest is rich both in natural resources and historical monuments. Peaceful and bustling, a big metropolis and yet friendly, it treasures the old and embraces the new. Here the historic blends with the modern, the hills from Buda harmonize with the river Danube, which flows through the city along a stretch of 28 kilometers.

Budapest has been a great location for the 4th World Congress in September of 2007 as we had physicians participating from 73 countries. All of the 1845 participants left the congress with happy memories and better prepared to take care of their patients.

I look forward to welcoming all who join us for this conference.

With best wishes,

Gabor B. Racz, MD, FIPP
Founder & Immediate Past-President, World Institute of Pain - WIP
