Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 6th World Congress on Pediatric Infectious Diseases which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 18-22, 2009.
The World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases was founded twelve years ago with the purpose of bringing together members of national and regional organizations in this specialty for an international congress, during which data could be exchanged and new friendships forged. All of the regional societies from Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australasia and Africa are participating in the WSPID. Past meetings have been held in Acapulco, Mexico (1996), Manila, Philippines (1999), Santiago, Chile (2002), Warsaw, Poland (2005) and most recently in Bangkok, Thailand (2007).
Buenos Aires is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a European flavor that is full of life and bursting with energy. Our colleagues from the Argentinian Society of Pediatrics will collaborate with us in organizing a high quality scientific program and attractive social events. We invite you to attend this congress, where renowned speakers will fascinate us with the latest discoveries in our field, and ample time will be provided for discussion, interaction and social activities in a friendly and congenial environment.
Come join your colleagues in pediatric infectious diseases from around the world, present your latest discoveries and gain insight from theirs.
We look forward to welcoming you in Buenos Aires for WSPID 2009.
Yours sincerely,
Ron Dagan, MD
President, World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases
