welcome note

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Pediatric Infectious Diseases are a worldwide medical problem. Thousands of physicians like you seek to prevent and treat these diseases by the best means possible, using the best information. The World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases was founded ten years ago with the purpose of bringing together members of national and regional organizations in this specialty for an international congress, in which data could be exchanged and new friendships forged. All of the regional societies from Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australasia and Africa participate in the WSPID. Previous meetings have been held in Acapulco, Mexico (1996); Manila, Philippines (1999); and Santiago, Chile (2002).warsaw center

The Fourth meeting of the WSPID will be held in Warsaw, Poland, September 1-4, 2005. Poland in particular and East Europe in general are rapidly developing, and our colleagues in those countries eagerly seek international contacts. We invite you to attend this congress, where eminent speakers will tell us about the latest discoveries in our field, and where there will be ample social activities.

Come and join your colleagues from around the world!

Yours sincerely,

Stanley A Plotkin, MD
President, World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases
